FOOD ASSISTANCE

If you or someone you know in Caldwell County, TX are in need of our services, getting our help could not be easier. 

 

Please bring in a photo ID and proof of residency (like an electricity bill.)   On your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a short form and you will receive a basket of food.  We offer two grocery basket per household per month.

 

Our baskets consist of protein (meat), eggs, milk, bread products, rice/pasta and canned goods.  Depending on the family size, the basket should be enough to prepare between ten and fifteen meals.   We strive to make our baskets consistently the same weight for all days of operation and delivery great quality products.

Pantry clients can come in on any day for fresh produce, in addition to the monthly basket.

HOPE Program

Healthy Options Program for the Elderly

Any one over 55 is eligible for this program. Typically the pantry distribues over 400 bags a month, with the average bag being 10 pound of non-perishable food items.  The HOPE bags are available at the pantry during the 3rd and 4th weeks of the month.

BACKPACKS

We distribute monthly backpacks to seven schools in the Lockhart and Luling school districts.  Bags contain mostly snack items and easy to prepare items safe for children. Each bag also contains a coupon for the backpack family to bring in to receive a regular grocery basket. Please check with your child's counselor to sign up for the program.

FEEDING LOCKHART

Feeding Lockhart is a new program that began in August 2021. This program provides a free weekly community meal hosted by First United Methodist Church in Lockhart on Wednesdays at 5:00 pm

and Lockhart Church of Christ on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm.

Feeding Lockhart is a partnership with community churches to provide nourishment and fellowship.
